inspiration for my music magazine

After now selecting my genre and doing the genre research, I have more knowledge and understanding of this particular side of the music industry. my inspiration stems from images and music videos i have seen whilst doing my research into different genres. Pop seemed too easy to me, but rock, well i saw a challenge there and i feel as though i will be able to make a very well thought out and put together finished music magazine.

This is a magazine which i would like to extract aspects from to inspire my work, I like the idea of the way the main cover image is a interior shot, with a plain background, this helps the image become a focus, i think this would be a good aspect for my target audience to be drawn in, also using younger "models" as this immediately is someone they can identify with and relate to and admire. i also like the way the image used uses the colour scheme of the magazine i will try to use this idea in my own work, I like the idea of using posters, This makes the cover line much more visually enticing and interesting for a young target audience and also "a special issue" component, making the magazine issue special in some way, this is an exciting feature in its self.

The second magazine i find highly inspiring is "NME" for the rock genre. The 1st thing that pops out to me is the colour scheme, The colours black and white, red and yellow seem to be of heavy use in the rock magazine industry, this draws the cover together to make all the components work and fit nicely, using only a selective range of colour sometimes with different variation, this gives a highly professional slant on the cover. I also like the use of "bubbles" and abbrevations such as "+" instead of Plus another thing that draws younger audiences.
