Development upon the preliminary task (and my reflections)

As i am working on my preliminary task, I have begun expertising the tools, previously mentioned, after establishing the layout of my magazine, I layers on text aspects of my cover, To begin this stage i started by adding the font, which i deemed most suited and appropriate for a college magazine, I then used this font to create the entirety of text on the cover, looking back on this i wish i had changed this, by using different fonts for aspects on the cover, although still pleased with the result, shown below.

After this step, I then added the cover lines for an realistic approach to the magazine. The colour selected was to connote the college colours, Red is a established primary colour with connotations of energy, strength, power, determination and love. all good desirable traits in education. I also designed and crafted my cover lines in a way that it would appear to college reader that the magazine was from the perspective by using words such as “our” “you” “student” “return” these are all good words in my eyes that are inclusive of the reader.
